Captain Paul "Roj" Rojkowski

Captain Paul Rojkowski started his career with Calumet City on November 16, 1989. Originally assigned to days, Paul was called to Chief Lou Coneens office on December 23rd and informed that he would be starting 24 hrs on Red shift the following day. Paul began Red shift with Bob Ores as a partner on the ambulance and Captain Joe Skelton in charge. After 7 years of paramedic duty , Paul was promoted to Engineer where he began years of assisting in keeping the department vehicles maintained and operating safely.

Eventually, Paul was promoted to his favored position of Captain in charge of Red shift until his retirement on , 2018. Pictured below is Captain Rojkowski with his Nephew and Brother, all proud civil servants.

Paul’s plans for retirement include building his personal auto shop (hobby work), summer times at the lake house (work and play) and getting out of the Midwest to a warmer climate in about 10 years or so.
