Captain John Flowers

John Flowers passed away July 9, 2020 due to complications of the Coronavirus.

He was married for 49 1/2 years to Donna Flowers. He left behind his older brother, Richard Flowers. Also, children Adam and Jean Theile, daughter in law Alicia Morse and son in law Dennis Theile as well as grandchildren Anya Theile and Brandon Theile.

John grew up on the south side of Chicago. He graduated CVS High school and then joined the Army. After an honorable discharge he worked as an electrician for Chicago Northwestern Railroad. He began his career for the Calumet City Fire Department in November of 1974. He retired as Captain In November of 1999 after 25 years of service. John also served two years as Chief of the Department. He was also secretary to the Calumet City Firefighters Association for many years

After he retired he spent many days and nights cooking, fishing and socializing at the Piscateers Club in Dolton. He even spent a couple of years serving as president of the club and was on the board of directors.

1 and 1/2 years ago John and Donna moved from Calumet City to Las Vegas where they would be near their son and daughter-in-law. Not only did John enjoy the sunshine, he didn't miss the snow.
